PAK vs AFG: In the 22nd league match of the ICC World Cup 2023, Afghanistan has created history by defeating Pakistan by 8 wickets at the MS Chidambaram Cricket Stadium in Chennai. After the spectacular victory in the match, Afghanistan team has moved straight from 10th place to sixth place in the points table.

Afghanistan had a target of 284 runs in the match. In response, openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran made a great start and made a partnership of 130 runs. In the match, Gurbaz played a stormy inning of 65 runs in 53 balls with the help of 9 fours and one six. While Zadran played an important inning of 87 runs.

After the fall of two wickets, the pair of Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi made an unbeaten partnership of 96 runs and led their team to victory. The Afghan team scored 286/2 in 49 overs and won the match by 8 wickets.

Earlier, batting first, Pakistan scored 282/7 in 50 overs with the help of Babar Azam’s 74 runs and Iftikhar Ahmed’s 40 runs. In the match, spinner Noor Ahmed took maximum 3 wickets for the Afghan team while Naveen Ul Haq also took two wickets in his name.
