Rituraj Gaikwad scored a century in the semi-finals after a double century in the quarter-finals.

Even if the doors of Team India are closed for Rituraj Gaikwad, he has brought his team Maharashtra to the point of success. After the record-breaking double century of star batsman Gaikwad, Maharashtra has made a place in the final of Vijay Hazare Trophy on the basis of a huge century innings in the semi-finals. Apart from captain Gaikwad, under-19 world champion Indian fast bowler Rajvardhan Hungergekar’s lethal bowling helped Maharashtra beat Assam by a close margin of 12 runs in the second semi-final. He will face Saurashtra in the final.

Both the semi-finals were played on Wednesday 30 November in Ahmedabad. In the first semi-final, Saurashtra defeated Karnataka in a one-sided fashion, while the second match saw an exciting and close match between Maharashtra and Assam. Maharashtra batted first and scored a big score of 350 runs, in response to which Assam could only reach 338 runs.
