Celebration of getting chairmanship of G20 continues, ASI monuments in Ladakh illuminated with people

India G20 Logo On Monuments: India has assumed the chairmanship of G20 on Thursday (December 1). To make this occasion special, the protected monuments are being illuminated with the G20 logo. In this episode, on Saturday (December 3), 3 centrally protected monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Leh circle, including the Leh Palace, Hemis and Thiksey Monastery in Ladakh, have been illuminated with the G20 logo of India.

Several centrally protected monuments across the country will be illuminated from December 1 to December 7 in view of India assuming the chairmanship of the G20. There will be a summit of G20 countries in India from 9 to 10 September next year. According to a senior official, 100 sites of the ASI, including the UNESCO site, will be illuminated for a week to celebrate the G20 chairmanship. He said the size of the logo on the monuments would depend on the design of the site.

Red Fort, Qutub Minar was also illuminated

There are a total of 40 cultural and natural sites in India which have been given the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site, while the remaining sites are under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Earlier, many monuments including the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Krishna’s Butter Ball in Mamallapuram in New Delhi have been illuminated with G20 logos.

PM Modi unveiled the logo

Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) unveiled the logo, theme and website for India’s presidency of the G20 on 8 November. The logo is made with the four colors of the national flag and has a lotus flower. Its theme is ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’. Apart from India, the G20 includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.
