Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022: The campaign for the second phase of the Gujarat assembly elections is over. Earlier, all the political parties and candidates tried to woo the voters in their own way. In the second phase of the assembly elections, votes will be cast for 93 seats on Monday, December 5, 2022. Earlier, the first phase of voting on 89 seats was held on 1 December 2022. The average voter turnout in the first phase was 63.31 percent.
In the assembly elections held in the year 2017, out of these 93 seats, BJP won 51 seats and Congress won 39 seats. This time a total of 833 candidates are trying their luck in the second phase. There are a total of 182 seats in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. Of these, 13 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 27 seats for Scheduled Tribes. After the voting of both the phases, the results of the Gujarat Assembly elections will be declared on December 8.
In the second phase, eyes are on these famous faces
The 93 seats for which polling is to be held in the second phase include 14 districts of North Gujarat and Central Gujarat. In which famous districts like Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Gandhinagar are also there. Apart from this, the famous faces on whom everyone’s eyes are on in the second phase include Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Hardik Patel and Alpesh Thakur. All three are contesting from Ghatlodiya, Viramgam and Gandhinagar South seats.
Second phase important for BJP Congress
The second phase of elections in Gujarat is going to be important for both BJP and Congress. The parliamentary constituencies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are also included in the seats on which elections are to be held in this phase. In such a situation, it will be important for the BJP to put up a strong fight in this phase. On the other hand, this phase is going to be important for the Congress because during the first phase of voting itself, BJP had shown its preparations for the second phase through big programmes.
