Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has gifted a car to the first woman bus driver in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The name of this female bus driver is M. Sharmila who recently resigned from her job following a controversy.

M. Sharmila was a bus driver and DMK MP Kanimozhi traveled in her bus last week and was ticketed. After this Sharmila had a fight with the bus operator and conductor and after that she tendered her resignation.

In such a situation, to start his taxi business, actor Kamal Haasan has given him a check of Rs 3 lakh so that he can book his seven seater MPV. He has assured the former bus driver that he will help him in buying a car.

The press note reads, “Sharmila was Coimbatore’s first woman bus driver as was Veeralakshmi of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, as Vasanthakumari was the first woman ambulance driver. She worked very hard to become a driver.”

It is further written that, “She is highly praised for her effective work and in such a situation, Kamal Haasan has donated a new car to Sharmila to start the car rental business.” Sharmila can soon start her car driving business.

Kamal Haasan said, “I was deeply saddened by the recent discussions about Sharmila, who was a shining example for her age. Sharmila should not just remain a driver. I am sure I will Let us also make people like Sharmila.

Last week Kanimozhi took a short ride from Gandhipuram to Peelamadu in Coimbatore and Sharmila was the driver of that bus. In such a situation, her colleague did not behave well with MP Kanimozhi, due to which Sharmila was deeply hurt.

After this he had to resign from his ‘dream job’. Along with this, the bus management had accused Sharmila that she deliberately invites big celebrities to travel in her bus for publicity and she was not aware of Kanimozhi’s arrival.

Sharmila claimed that she had informed the management about Kanimozhi’s arrival but she could not tolerate the insult meted out to the MP. Now Sharmila is going to start her taxi soon.
