The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is currently creating a lot of buzz and in such a situation, CS Santosh, who rode in Dakar in India, has been seen riding this bike. Santosh was riding this upcoming adventure bike at Big Rock Dirt Park, Kolar, Karnataka.

Santosh, who is the first Indian to participate and complete the Dakar Rally, was seen testing the rally version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Santosh will be back in the Dakar Rally next year again with the Himalayan 450.

In a video released by Dakar Rally on their Instagram page, Santosh can be seen riding, jumping, sliding the road spec version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 as it is yet to be launched.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is tipped to come with a new engine which could be a 450cc engine producing 40 bhp power and the same amount of torque. A 6-speed gearbox can be given with this engine.

It is believed that the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be given wheel step clad with dual purpose tires and will also be given long-travel suspension, which can be easily seen in the video of Instagram. This confirms its arrival.

Royal Enfield may bring the new Himalayan 450 in the Indian market during the festive season to reach out to more customers and increase the competition in the adventure segment with this new model. It will give tough competition to the KTM 390 Adventure.

Recently, the fully adjustable suspension setup has been added to the KTM 390 Adventure which makes it even better than before. Whereas Harley Davidson and Triumph are about to bring new 400cc bikes to the Indian market in July.

Royal Enfield is now planning to set up a new plant in Tamil Nadu and preparations have been started for the same. The company has also acquired 60 acres of land on the outskirts of Chennai and the EV will be produced at this plant.

Royal Enfield can first bring Shotgun 650 and Himalayan 450 from the new plant. The company has also started working on this plot to make smooth transition to EVs, when ready and ready for production.
