Bad news for people waiting for Mahindra Thar 5 Door, will be launched in 2024, not August
For a long time, rumors were flying about the launch of Mahindra Thar 5 Door in August, but now these rumors have come to an end. Mahindra has made it clear through an Instagram post that the Mahindra Thar 5 Door could be brought in 2024.
Mahindra has confirmed that the Thar 5 Door will be introduced only in 2024, making an August 2023 launch very unlikely. This was announced during the quarterly results meeting held earlier this year.
The Mahindra Thar 5 door has been spied testing several times, and the front images reveal that it will come with a metal roof and sunroof. It could be brought with the same engine options as the current Thar – 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel.
Talking about the design, the design of the Mahindra Thar 5 door is going to be similar to the 3 door model. It has been given a similar, upright, box-like design. Two rear doors have been additionally added to it, due to which it becomes easier to enter and exit the car.
The handles of these doors have been placed on the C-pillar of this SUV. The Mahindra Thar 5 Door gets rectangular headlights while the 3 Door version comes with circular lights. At the same time, new design alloy wheels can be given in it.
Mahindra Thar 5 door has been seen with automatic gearbox but 4×4 lever is not seen. In such a situation, it can be said that the new Thar can be brought only with a 2WD system, in which case it will work to send power to the rear wheels.
Let us tell you that Mahindra Thar has received a great response in the Indian market, due to which the new model of this SUV has also crossed the 1 lakh production mark. Mahindra Thar has achieved this figure in 2.5 years (30 months).
The new Mahindra Thar was launched on 2nd October 2020. The new Thar was brought in two trims AX and LX. The LX variant is meant for casual usage while the VX variant is specially designed for adventure and off road riding.
The off-road SUV has a ground clearance of 226 mm and a water wading capacity of 650 mm. Mahindra Thar competes with models like Maruti Jimny, Force Gurkha in the Indian market.
