Mumbai Airport Customs Seizes Gold: The Customs Department has seized 4712 grams of gold from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. 3 people have been arrested for its illegal trafficking. Officials said, a total of 4712 grams of gold has been seized in two different cases. During the search, 1872 grams of gold kept hidden in specially designed undergarments and 2840 grams of gold kept hidden in the toilet of the flight were recovered. A total of 3 accused have been arrested in these two cases of gold smuggling and further investigation is going on.
Smuggling gold by hiding it in undergarments
Officials told that they had received a secret information that some people are going to smuggle gold illegally from the airport. After getting the information, the officials launched a special search operation to nab the smugglers. During this, he suspected some people. Illegal gold was recovered from these people on search. Officials said that the arrested accused had cleverly planned to smuggle gold. In one of these cases, the accused had specially designed undergarments for illegal smuggling of gold. During the search, 1872 grams of gold was recovered from the undergarments of the accused.

Apart from this, in another case, a person was trying to hide 2840 grams of gold in the toilet of the flight. During the search operation, the officials recovered gold from the toilet of the flight. The Customs Department has taken a total of three people into custody in both these cases of gold smuggling. Further investigation is being done by interrogating the arrested people. At the same time, the police have registered a case against these accused under various sections.
Last month also 7 people were arrested
It is noteworthy that earlier last month, the Customs Department at Mumbai Airport had seized 61 kg of gold in a single day, whose market value was said to be Rs 32 crore. The Customs Department had arrested seven people, including two women, in two separate cases on November 11. This is the biggest seizure ever in a single day in the history of Mumbai Airport Customs.
